Don't bother with attempting a refinance. Loan office is completely incompetent and non-responsive. Selectively reads/answers emails. When she does answer, it is curt and misspelled. Not sure she is a legitimate trained and educated loan officer. Went 45 days with zero communication. Finally just walked away.

They will hold your deposit for a couple days, take the mortgage payment out - and NSF any other checks that come in. They have done this for years - and I am finally refinancing elsewhere to avoid this. No other bank or savings and loan in this city holds funds as long as Third Federal does... and not to mention I have 3 savings accounts they could hold the funds against at any time.

What can you say about a bank that looks at you as just a number, and has no interest in looking out for your needs as a customer. They talk sweetly enough, but their actions are the tell. If all you care about is a low rate, this is your bank. If you are going to need some help and some minimum level service, look elsewhere. Once the signature is on the paper, they really have no use for you.
