Over three weeks into trying to purchase a new home with our current mortgage company (not local) I had to find someone new due to their lack of response and understanding of my tight schedule. I was referred to Tony Guinta at Equity in Newark by our Realtor and cannot say enough good about my experience. Tony was responsive, attentive, professional and understanding of our need to close ASAP. Within less than three weeks we were at the closing table without a hitch. Night and day experience from our national mortgage company we were initially trying to work with. I would highly recommend Equity Resources to anyone looking for mortgage services - ask for Tony, he was awesome.

Brian Gilligan was great to work with on our refinance. He was there every step of the way and even followed up after closing. Would definitely use them in the future if needed. Highly recommend.

I worked with this company two years ago to get pre approved and had a good experience, quick, good rate, felt like things were explained to me. I tried to be approved a few weeks ago for significantly less… and was lied to, not explained anything, and all around just feel like I was treated differently (BY THE SAME LENDER) due to wanting a lower loan amount/having lower income. I work for a bank, I know all about fair lending and this was not it. It felt much more like predatory lending trying to get me to take out a loan that pays this company more overall. I will never recommend this company again. Take the time to speak TO your clients, explain when they ask questions and don’t blatantly lie about things to benefit yourself, that’s disgusting. Also very unprofessional when I voiced all of this to the lender, just showed she knew she was in the wrong for lying to me.

Could not have been happier elsewhere! Brach and his team at equity resources were very quick about answering questions, taking our calls when we needed him, getting us a reasonable approval, and just being there for us when we needed him! Can’t thank him and his team enough! Highly recommend!

Our experience with call equity in Toledo was nothing less than horrible. As a brief summary, they delayed the start of the processing for 2.5 weeks after we signed and submitted earnest $$. I believe all concerns could have been addressed, and remedied if they would have began the processes immediately after signing and receipt of earnest $$. The seller flew in for the closing date, which was not met, and was understandably frustrated. We had to follow up with the company to inquire as to the status of any documentation required. 1 week prior to the next closing date, we were contacted regarding submission of the earnest $$ (paid directly to their portal 1.5 months prior), and other documents “required immediately”. Most of which, had been previously submitted to their portal. The person we dealt with is apparently not aware of what their under writers will, will not approve. We made it very clear that we were purchasing the property as an investment. If we would have been informed that they cannot finance these types of projects, April 3rd, not May 20th, it would have saved a lot of time, money, and frustration for us, the seller, and all involved. However, we did not receive this information until the day before closing... Very unprofessional, and very frustrating results. We do indeed to pursue investment property in Toledo, however will not utilize their “service”.

We worked with Jeff Harris and he was on top of everything throughout the entire loan process. Jeff stayed in contact with us early on at least once a week while we were searching for a home and waiting for an offer on ours. When we wanted to make offers on properties, he would run numbers for us regardless of the time of day (let me stress that one: 8 o'clock on a Friday night? We would get a response within the hour!) When our house went under contract and we made an aggressive offer on a property, his communication amped up to 11. He would call or email us multiple times a day letting us know what was going on or when he needed us to provide paperwork. All told, we closed this afternoon a mere 18 days after our offer was accepted... That will not happen at a bank! Jeff Harris was an incredible asset to our home buying process and the honest to god least stressful part of the entire fiasco. My wife and I cannot say enough positive things about him and his team, they were awesome!
