This is my go to credit union for home refi's and auto loans. They have very competitive rates and make the application process easy. All of the staff are helpful and friendly too. I appreciate that they've updated their website recently, as well as their significant investment in a beautiful new headquarters addition and renovation here in Coquille.
However, there are 2 areas I find seriously lacking, and they're the main reason why I still can't do my day to day banking with them:
1) The lack of options for transferring money to/from other institutions *instantly* using Zelle, Cash App, Paypal, Venmo, etc. (These are just the top four peer-to-peer [P2P] mobile payment apps that allow users to transfer funds from a linked bank or credit union account to another recipient.) First Community Credit Union doesn't even appear as an option to select when choosing from the financial institution lists on these P2P apps. My other credit union does. Let's face it, the younger generation doesn't use normal brick and mortar banking, but they are still who we're doing business with. So offering P2P options is a critical financial service for FCCU members. We have to stay flexible in today's mobile-based, remote & gig-worker centric world. Our credit union should too.
2) FCCU's mobile app looks and feels like it was built and never updated. The simple, dark red interface feels like "my first cell phone." Combine that with the missing P2P services, and it feels...a bit quaint. If they can update their website, they should be able to update their app. But a design update alone won't fix the lack of P2P services.
I don't understand why First Community Credit Union hasn't stayed competitive with their services, and I don't need to. It's clear that they're interested in investing in the future by the beautiful headquarters addition and renovation. They just need to take it further. I'm rooting for them to succeed. In my opinion, if FCCU were to focus their efforts on improving these essential financial services, they'd be on par with other banks & credit unions that have already made the leap. Actually, they'd be at a competitive advantage, not just on par, because their loan rates would bump them to the top of my list. I could actually transfer all of my banking to them, which I'd really like to be able to do.
I will update this review if & when those services are offered.

I had the PLEASURE of working with Sarah Nix. She made getting a car loan the easiest experience I have ever had with getting a car. Very professional and made it as easy as possible. I would recommend to everyone who is interested in working with a personal banker to ask for Sarah! Oh, and maybe a pay raise for her too!! She deserves it!

This is everything you want in a credit union. Their service is almost always fast. Their building is spacious, and the staff is helpful not only in various issues that have come up, but often have the answers immediately and can instantly provide a solution. The mobile banking use to be AWFUL, but has gotten to where it is actually usable and reliable. I am surprised however, that their mobile platform does not allow the depositing of checks like my bank of america account back in 2013. They are behind the times only in this one area. I recently went to Japan with my wife for a week. I warned the bank a week before hand, and they were instantly able to allow the card to operate ONLY during the days while I was there and everything was flawless the whole time. My card worked just like a native Japanese person's card in Tokyo. I find it amusing that the headquarters for all of the first-community credit unions is this building here in coquille. I think that's why this branch is so pristine and spacious, but that's another reason I love it! Thanks to all the staff that helped us with a smile over the years!

The auto insurance plans are overpriced, I saved nearly half by buying direct through the insurance company. Insurance re sellers are always a scam. Buy insurance direct and don't let first community credit union rip you off.

Ive had this acct since 1975. This credit union has always been my go to, for money transfers to New Zealand, travellers checks, direct deposits, and personal and car loans.

Completely Terrible credit union. If they make a mistake they never will admit even though it negatively impacts customers. I will be refinancing as soon as possible but they are just like the big banks and customers don't matter. I would stay away.
