I opened an account here before it was WaFd Bank. Until now, I was comfortable with the service they provided. I wanted to speak with the branch manager because (1) I have been considering moving money from another institution to WaFd, (2) wanted an explanation of a letter I had received from WaFd, (3) had been advised to give the WaFd the name of an identity theft suspect, (4) needed to make a copy of an original document kept in my safe deposit box. Monday I went to my branch and waited while a teller helped a woman whose money was sent to the wrong account. I was told that the bank manager was unavailable. The teller was just plain rude regarding my question about the letter. When I gave her the my safe deposit key she was unable to open my box and passed me off to someone else. I was sent home to wait until a locksmith could open my box on Thursday afternoon. I phoned the bank on Wednesday to make appointment with the bank manager. I was quizzed about my reason for wanting to see her and not given an appointment.
It is Thursday again. Two weeks after the locksmith opened my safe deposit box. An hour ago I received a call from the bank noting my poor experience with their service.

I have seen young talented staff leaves over time. most repentantly i was involved in what appeared to be a simple transaction that took 30 minutes, I had arranged an appointed for this transaction ahead of time and the staff working with me stated, i have never done this before!!!! Where is the training for new staff? where is the management who monitors new staff. very, very disappointed. Yes i do understand the virus situation an effects on everyone!!

Every one at the Dallas branch of Washington Federal is courteous and helpful. It is more like going into the home of a friend, than a business.
The management and investment policies of this institution have allowed it to succeed, where many others have failed. Thank you, for being an institution that the public can trust. Please accept my wishes for continued success.

Teller was extremely helpful! But when she asked for help they were rude towards my husband about his check and then didn't tell us what type of hold they put on it..I had to call a different branch to find out. Very frustrating, avoid this branch.
