We worked with Phil Vollmer at Fairway on what turned out to be a fairly complex purchase, financing the new house before selling the old one. Even in rough seas, as it were, Phil was always upbeat, optimistic (rightly so!), and eager to help in every way he could. We especially appreciated his seemingly boundless creativity, as he proposed one approach after another until we found one that stuck. A key aspect of the financing for us was that the mortgage be amenable to a "recast", that is, a reamortization of payments following a large principal reduction (post-sale of the former house). Even though mortgage servicing was transferred from Fairway to another bank shortly after closing, this has now worked out precisely as intended. We can give Phil & Fairway our strongest recommendation.
