First let me say my online experience with PSECU is great. The phone support is good as well.
This is purely a review about the State College "Branch" . This is nothing more from what I can tell externally to be some type of lounge where they open new accounts. It certainly doesnt resemble any bank I have ever been inside of. Which brings me to the next part.
I looked up the hours, showed up to make a large cash deposit on a Tuesday morning, greeted by a sign that no one was there. Heck, Im not sure there are office hours post covid as it says "let us help you virtual". So I attempted to make this large cash deposit via the ATM. All was going well till I inserted the cash and ... BOOM.... technical error, we cant process the request or return the deposit.
At this point Im semi panic'd it prints me a receipt thankfully but with very little info. I turn to find the number on the door for the "branch manager". Call the number cause im now missing thousands of dollars in cash. Instantly straight to voicemail, 9:05am on a Tuesday. Please god tell me you dont have some student running this.
Thankfully after about a 20 min phone call the ATM dispute rep was able to get this going as a claim. The money showed up in my account a few hours later.
State College is anything but a branch. If I wasnt able to resolve this issue as timely as I had, I wouldve cancelled my ten year old account because of this. If you live in Harrisburg, great, anywhere else youre at the mercy of virtual services.

I updated an auto payment online to pull from a new account, and selected the option to "replace current auto pay". A few weeks later my account bounces because they tried to pull money from both accounts. After 30 minutes on the phone, rather than accepting responsibility for their failed system, I am told that it is my fault because I did not physically send in a form that I was not told was required. If you still use letters and fax machines then PSECU will probably be fine. But if you expect to do anything online, go somewhere else. I will be moving my personal and business accounts elsewhere.

Absolutely the worst banking experience I've ever had. I chose PSECU for my auto loan because it was 0.25% lower than competitors. It was NOT worth it. I was told that I would be able to choose the day of the month on which my loan payment was due. When the bills first arrived on the 9th, I paid it from my savings so as not to be late. I then called in and asked to change the date it was due to the 18th, but they told me that since I paid a couple already, that I could no longer change the date. Apparently, that was in the fine print of the agreement which I never saw because the dealership setup the loan on my behalf. I don't have the money to make the payment on the 9th, which is why I made sure that I could set the date before entering into this agreement. I have a grace period of 10 days to avoid a late fee, so I am able to continue making payments, but they will not setup automatic payments for a date after the due date, so I have to send a check every month. They also don't send out coupon reminders so I have to create a calendar entry in my phone to remind me every month. Oh, I also tried to setup automatic bill pay at my normal bank to send a check once a month but the first month, the credit union "never got the check" and assessed a late fee. I've been using my bank's automated bill pay feature for almost 15 years now with all kinds of accounts and this is the first time the check never arrived, so while I admit it's possible it was lost in the mail, I think it's more likely that it was lost in PSECU's general incompetence. Now I have to pay a stop check fee with my bank. The summary here is that you should never use this credit union because something similar to this is certain to happen to you too.

Never had more issues trying to make a car payment. Can’t wait to refinance somewhere else.

Awesome friendly staff, never have to wait long the rare time I actually need to call in unless is busy time. Can't beat their rates for loans or returns. I even literally got money from them when I only had ain auto loan through them just because I was technically a member. If you're eligible I strongly recommend making the switch. Between loan transfers, low apr and their returns for members this is one of the best financial decisions I've ever made

I have been trying for three weeks to talk to any human being but they're only open 5 hours a week. every week I spend 2+ hours on hold until I give up. definitely try somewhere else because I think im never going to get my money back
