Gold Coast Construction Loans, Vandergrift, PA

When we decided to go through riverview to build/purchase our first home, we were told the process was going to be simple and faster. Instead, we were baited in with false information. We were planning to do this and were financially ready to do so. In the beginning, I was very clear on our situation. I had talked to many banks etc. before and was prepared. After speaking to Riverview, my husband was directed to call "Gold Coast Loans". I asked Riverview why my husband and I couldnt just call a local bank instead. They really ignored what I said, and kept directing my husband to call. So we did. I talked to Gold Coast Loans over the phone and was told our situation was no problem. I even wrote down everything they said, and repeated it back many times to make sure I heard it correctly. I was emailed the paperwork and told it would take quite some time to get done. I got to work on it right away. It took me roughly 10 days to get most of it emailed back, then another 20 or so to get the rest. Over about a months time, i had given all the paperwork needed. I noticed though, after submitting most of the paperwork their attitude with me began to change and they began to get snippy. On top of it, my husband and I found out that GOLD COAST LOANS is part of Riverview! We were kept in the dark about this and in the end, we gave Gold Coast Loans more money than it was worth!! In the thousands! Gold Coast Loans did not communicate with us about anything. In the very beginning we were called once or twice. We called numerous times and never got calls back. My husband and I were extremely annoyed with this. Being as though they were "supposed" to handle the financials. All they did was hand over paperwork to the bank that we could have done on our own and saved the money! RIVERVIEW -We were told as first time home buyers our land would be our down payment. This was not the case, we had to hand over 35000. -The process was delayed over a month and the communication was terrible. We had to flip flop back and forth on features of the home etc. All because of bad communication. -Being as though we had a terrible experience, we were upset that after everything the process was being delayed. We asked to speak to the owner of Riverview and he was very very rude. He did not care about the delay or the experience we had, he already had the money in his pocket. -our drywall was done terribly. Very disappointing. After finding out that the finishers get paid per job, that explains why they worked few hours and missed so many spots and overall did a terrible job. -My husband even walked in on them working at one point and there was a guy sleeping on the floor. -The houses on the lot definitely have more time into them to make you think what a nice home.
