Terrible, lying company. Told me I had outstanding odds for $2k, pre-approved me, then turned me down for $500. Do not recommend these liars to anyone.

If you are not latino - it would be best to shop elsewhere for a personal loan. Service Loan Regional Loan Mariner Republic All offer better service and are actively trying to do business regardless of ethnicity. We would like to file a formal complaint against “Oportun Loans” We have experienced the most egregious loan application process I have ever witnessed. We have had 6 previous loans with this company and have paid back in full/ on time each previous loan. We have applied again for a loan and this attempt has been marred with attempts to deny our application. We have been asked several times over the last 8 days for proof of income - We have submitted bank statements 4 different times over the last week. We have been asked to submit proof of ownership of our bank statement - we have submitted our bank account signature card from Bank of America We were then asked to submit our business license. We are not applying for a business loan but a personal loan and we have been repulsed by the continuing stalling to complete the application process. We believe this tactic is ethnically motivated. We have witnessed countless latinos going into Oportun local location (76106) who are self-employed and are able to secure a personal loan without half of the egregious attempts to discourage applicants.
