I sent on my paper work to open a savings account and to start process for a personal loan over a month ago at two weeks I called the location because I never heard back after receiving email that they have received my paperwork and would contact me after review. I spoke with Ms Dorothy she was absolutely amazing and very helpful. I was told I would get a call back that day before close of business. Well that was two weeks ago I still haven’t heard anything from them. At this point I’m not sure if I need to contact another credit union to help us out.

I have had a good experience with Lone Star CU in the past, but I recently referred someone to them for a vehicle loan and they have dragged out the loan app for over a month - mostly because they just will not return phone calls. The loan dept is either grossly understaffed or just doesn’t care about customers. Either way, it is a very bad experience. I highly do not recommend them. I’ll update my review if things change in the near future.
*** Update *** I was contacted by a manager at Lone Star CU within a few hours of posting my original 2 star review. She apologized for the way my referral was treated and promised to resolve the situation immediately - and she did. The loan rep contacted my referral within a couple of hours and got started on finalizing the loan. The loan is now complete and the loan rep stayed in touch as expected during the last few days of the process. I think they are working through process changes resulting from limited staffing, hours, etc. due to the pandemic. I will definitely use and refer them again.

Great credit union! We've been members for over 15 years and recommend to anyone who is tired of paying all the fees charged by big banks. A big perk for members is the fact that Lone Star CU deposits our SSI immediately. Big banks hold posting to your account to earn money on your deposits. Not Line Star!

At one time, this was the best bank. But ever since COVID and there new rules, it's the worst. Just to go inside the bank you must have a appointment. We have used this bank for a very long and will be moving to Chase bank. Bring your people back to the office covid is over....

Lone Star's dinosaur protocols is why they lost our business! Customer service with Shelley does not exist. Everything by appointment, or email. 3 days just to open a checking account? I think not. WE cancelled the app. then walked right inside Red River Credit Union up the street, 45 mins later walked out with our debt cards in hand! One & done... ya'll got out-banked!
