From our initial outreach to open our savings and checking, to our application process for our mortgage, the process has been seamless. We have since signed up for debit cards as well as their online banking and bill pay services, which makes our banking experience even easier! The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. For many years we used one of the "big national banks" for our primary checking and savings. A few years ago, they closed all of the local branches in our area and now our nearest branches are over 90 miles away. This was fine most of the time since we do the majority of our banking online. However, every time we needed something out of the ordinary, it involved negotiating a painfully obtuse automated system, followed an ad-filled 20 minute wait on hold to speak to someone on the phone. Or a two hour trip to a distant branch. We finally decided to move those accounts to First NRV FCU and are glad we did. Now when we call, a friendly, helpful person always answers the phone. When we need to visit in person, it's only 5 minutes away. We're earning way more interest than we were, and we have more fee-free ATMs available across the US. We wish we'd made the move to First NRV sooner!

Best local bank around Radford. I opened a free checking and savings account with overdraft protection which is amazing. they treat you like a human being and not like a number. I would highly recommend this bank love them!
