What isn’t wrong with this Bank, only one around that charges monthly service fees on accounts, got pre-approved for a car loan for X amount of dollars. Found a used car thousands less then my pre-approved amount, called to verify that I was ok to make an offer on said vehicle, which I was told definitely. After deal was done went to the bank to get check for seller and then was denied the loan... Watch your account like a hawk, have been charged multiple “courtesy” pay charges while my account was still in the black, all you get is that weird... yea at $19 a whack yea that’s weird alright. For a business that makes its money off our money stored with them, then charges for a checking account. Save yourself the heart ache and bank with anyone else, Seriously!

I left merchant's bank about 10 years ago due to customer service and ATM availability. I have checking, savings, and a car loan with NEFCU, and I love them all. We're starting with them for a house loan, great local bank.

(Read this in a medieval voice for best effect) The sun was high and bright, the air warm and slightly humid as I walked into this branch one September afternoon. Expecting to have my credit limit raised to prevent a second credit drop, I prepared for negotiations and clever tactics to sway my opponent into doing my command. Greeted by two kind folks, I smiled and explained to them my name and business affairs. I was directed to a group of leather chairs, so comfortable and fitting I felt as if the gods had sculpted a seat of clouds and cowhide just for me. I began to study from the tomes of their library, ready to play them at their own game with their own knowledge. The cobwebs stretched away from the first book as I pulled it off the shelf, while dust began to scatter across the air in front of me, illuminated by the sunrays from the window. While plotting my moves, I was approached and directed into an office. The chair in here was not as comfortable, a mere peasants chair. What a shame, the last I had sat on appeared to be placed in the incorrect area, but I digress. At last, I thought as I began to discuss my matter. However, my opponent quickly became my friend with the first words he uttered, and before I knew it, I had more information bestowed upon me than I could ever have gotten from a thousand books. Why is he sharing his secret's, I thought. Could it have been a trap, some sort of foolery? I gazed at the desk, his title was upon it. This was their leader, the branch manager. Perhaps I was indeed in the presence of the financial wizards of whom's sole quest is to enlighten the youth of credit and money management. Needless to say, I had an epiphany that I was wrong in my pursuit of higher credit to prevent a second score drop, and all I needed was the guidance of the elders. Thank you so much for the kind service! I very much appreciate all the information! (Also, the book wasn't dusty or webbed, that was just for dramatic effect since I was told I'm probably the only person who's ever opened one. It was surprisingly clean actually.)

Absolutely love this bank!! Worked with my when my credit was less than 500 an now its in great shape! Strongly suggest them!
