I have seldom in my long life met anyone as helpful with our financial needs. We have employed Scott twice - once in 2013 for a refinance of our current home and then a few years later (a few weeks ago) to refinance the same home. I have to emphasize that due to an unemployment issue a few years ago, our credit had taken a major hit. Another financial adviser in Tacoma who I won't name just told us what a hopeless case we were and told us to come back when we had our act together. Fast forward a couple years later. Scott gave us guidance on how to improve our credit, saw we were trying to improve, and he helped us steadily along our path. He doesn't let things slide and is good on following up. When we thought we couldn't achieve our goal, Scott had faith in us and treated us with respect, and helped us best he could for a favorable outcome. We signed papers the other day and were able to get the funds needed for some critical home projects at a good interest rate. Our mortgage has gone up some - but that's okay when you take into account that he also helped us consolidate and pay off other large debt (car payment and other home we were renting out) that overall will save us tons on interest. He truly cares about his clients and is not just extremely knowledgeable in his field, but also polite, personable and upbeat, respectful and respectable, confident, good communicator and even funny at times - just a real pleasure to work with. He even said it was okay to call or text him late at night to answer questions (but check with him first on that!). When the transactions were all over we even received some customary gifts from his team! I personally cannot imagine a better person to work with, and totally recommend him to anyone needing a lender. Did I mention that his staff is awesome too? Friendly yet very professional. Scott helped us when we purchased our first house here in Washington. He was great then! We have purchased a new home and Scott has made our experience one that would be hard to beat! We were so impressed with Scott on our previous home purchase two years ago (May 2014), he was our go-to-lender for the new home we just recently bought (June 2016); not only is this the second time we've used his services for a home loan, but we've referred others to him as well (all great reviews!). Our situation was a bit complicated due to extenuating circumstances, however, Scott went above and beyond for us (yet again) and not only got our financing in place and pre-approved quickly but he was instrumental in helped us close 3 weeks early! We are so happy to be in our new home in time for my husband's birthday - family and friends can now come to our new home for the birthday celebration and we'll be all settled in. Way better than having to be in the middle of a move on your birthday, for sure! Scott is a pleasure to work with - polite, knowledgeable, professional, positive and upbeat, with a good sense of humor. Plus, he's just a great guy to have on your side. He responds right away, and answers/addresses all concerns and questions – not only via telephone, but through email as well. He is up-to-date and very experienced in using modern and advanced e-technology too, which a lot of lenders aren't. This “e-ability” as I call it helps process so much so quickly, thereby streamlining the whole lending process. Because he has a genuine desire and concern when it comes to helping people, Scott really has provided us with extraordinary service… as he does with all his clients. He strives to make you feel comfortable and does not make you feel rushed – keeping it simple, he will patiently guide you through the lending process; answering questions and addressing concerns including items/actions you as the Buyer/Loan Applicant need to provide/take, and then let you know what steps/actions the Lender will take – something that first-time homeowners/mortgage seekers especially need to know in order to be aware of what is expected from both sides during the lending process (I affectionately refer to it as “hand-holding”!). Additionally, Scott understands that some people usually have at least one unique and/or difficult hoop/glitch to jump through or overcome in order to get pre-qualified/pre-approved for a loan, and he makes sure that things are done right the first time. I also admire his dedication and perseverance in seeing things through; he is goal-oriented and always expects positive results; however, if one method or application doesn’t work, he’s not afraid of asking questions or to try another approach in order to attain the desired result. I was also pleased (as was our budget) to have Scott’s help in obtaining an interest rate we could actually afford. Although our credit score was a “high ‘Good’”, the interest rate provided based on our score was a tad higher than I had hoped for; we really needed a lower rate so that it would fit into our budget. Scott ran/crunched some numbers and did a little more in-depth analysis of our income, assets and liabilities, which then allowed us to ‘buy down’ to a lower interest rate - just enough so that our budget was going to be met. Scott and his team of associates deserve an ‘outstanding’ rating of 10+. I am happy to recommend him to anyone seeking a home mortgage, whether VA, FHA, Conventional or other types of mortgage loans. They also do Modular, Manufactured, and Mobile Home loans, which is RARE to find most lenders doing nowadays. In conclusion, although we have finally now found our "forever home", if we should ever feel the need for a mortgage lender, there is no question that Scott Huntington with Evergreen Home Loans in Gig Harbor will be our choice! They are committed to their customers/clients, and continually strive for an “over-the-top, WOW!” level of personalized customer service experience.
