They will illegally place force placed insurance on your loan without contacting you first. Somehow used an address that I hadn't lived at in over 4 years and lied about that being my address on all my paperwork but when I called the dealer and Filo who sold the loan to them, they were provided my correct address on all my documentation. I had to threaten to obtain a lawyer before I was properly helped by the staff and given my CORRECT payoff amount so that I could take my business elsewhere. Avoid this credit union at all costs and refinance IMMEDIATELY if you have the misfortune of having your loan sold to them.

My brother Chia has had an account for several years with this Bank. Very helpful employees. I was going through an onboard process for my new employer and needed to have documents notarized and faxed and they did this for free for me even though I was not a member of this Credit Union. I am very impressed with Southern Lakes Credit Union and if I end up staying in the Elkhorn area I will most definitely be opening a new account with them and recommend this to anyone in the area.

Today I stopped in at this shared banking branch. My flat billed cap and pair of Jordan’s had me judged from the moment I walked. Leah the lady at the counter gave me one extremely unwelcoming look as if I shouldn’t be there. She was the one who helped me. I said hello how are you today. Her response I’m ok as she stared me up in down with a sour look. Didn’t ask what she could help me with just looked at me with obvious judgement for about 30 seconds without a word. I said well I’m here to make a deposit for a shared banking branch. She says here is the form to fill out. I have been here a few times and every other time the gals at the counter were very kind and professional. As I have been in WI for about a year and have been searching for a local credit union to replace my current one. This experience surely determined I will not be using Southern Lakes Credit Union. Leah go have a drink and hope you fix that judgmental RBF!

This is the worst banking establishment I have ever been forced to use. As soon as possible my vehicle will be refinanced through some other bank.

SOUTHERN LAKES CREDIT UNION REQUIRES A THUMBPRINT TO OPEN A NEW ACCOUNT! After the long process of beginning a new savings account I was told by the twenty-something with zero customer service skills that "uh, all that's left is we need your thumbprint." I asked why. She answered, "Uh, I think it has something to do with 9/11." I closed the account and went on my way. AVOID Southern Lakes at all costs!
