AltaOne Federal Credit Union, Ridgecrest, CA

Yesterday I went to close my account with Alta one. The lady behind the desk stated that what ever issues they were having before , shouldn’t persist any more because they are under new management. I insisted that i just wanted to close my account and continue my services else where. The teller then purposely inconvenienced me by writing me a check instead of giving me cash to close out my account. I told her I would like the cash and her response was “well I don’t have any”. I can’t cash the check with Alta one because , you guessed it , I don’t have an account with them anymore. So now if I go somewhere else to cash this check, I will be charged a fee to cash it, the amount of money issued on the check will be less than what I would have left with If they gave me cash. This place has always given me the run around when it came to resolving different issues , wounding recommend anyone to bank here.

My payment had failed due to banking error, due to my own technical mistake of not checking my bank account to see if they had actually pulled funds out they put a repossession flag on my car, they called my home phone but no messages left so I was obviously unable to respond, unfortunately as soon as they put the repossession flag in place it also places a large fee so remove it. Sadly this bank issue seems to happen frequently and all they say is it must be my banking institution.

I had a problem over four days trying to deposit a check through their ATMs. When I called in to see what the problem was, I was told they had no history of the transaction attempts nor any idea as to what the issue might be. I then used their moblie app to deposit my check. I called them back to see of there was any way to speed the deposit along so I might have access to my money, and I was told no: they had no way to speed the process along.

Every interaction with AltaOne was terrible. They ended up costing us a really good interest rate with a credit union we were trying to finance with because they negated on promises and took three months getting paperwork to us that we needed. I ended up having to call them multiple times a day for many days in a row to get them to complete what should have been done quickly. We will never go back.

Great bank been a member for 10 years have had many loans and a mortgage here best rates and no issues. I think the people giving bad reviews dont know how to manage money they get overdrafts and get upset .

Do not bank here period. Military Veterans should stick to USAA or Navy Federal. You have great options in Ridgecrest and this credit union is not one of them. They've gone downhill over the years with poor employee retention. I'd reccomend closing any account here asap. Terrible wait times at special services and letting others ahead when you have someone in a wheelchair. This fcu needs new management and new tellers who are not rude to members. They should remove their board members and elect new ones and restructure their business model

If I could leave zero stars I would. Wasted time at the norma branch they don’t even have a coin machine , they don’t even know how to open accounts , go to the main branch still couldn’t do what I needed ! I tried to give Alta one a second chance from the first time failed experience from Annan years ago and still hasn’t change . Incompetent people for sure !
