Navy Federal Credit Union, Ridgecrest, CA

ATM took my card and then froze,said out of order without releasing card. Next day they chopped my card. Now I have to replace all my payments. They should have held it and called. Not chopped it. Worst bank.

Great for day-to-day banking, but really was not a fan of their mortgage ‘service.’ Had an issue with a cashiers check, and they took care of it quickly and efficiently. I cannot recommend their mortgage service though. They seemed to not want the business and wouldn’t even talk to me in the branch about mortgages. Every other company in town bent over backwards to help and answer questions. No skin off my back, though: went with a smaller local company who had amazing service (even if the loan was sold before first payment date, I’m sure NFCU would’ve done the same thing anyways).

This bank was my local backup bank. Our main credit union is in San Diego. My wife received a savings bond when a family member passed away. She went to Navy Federal Credit Union to deposit the savings bond in our account. Beth the Assistant Manager helped. My wife had a lot of paperwork with her to prove the Savings Bond was hers. Beth sent her home for her marriage certificate. She went home and brought it back, only to find that Beth would not accept it. She used language like these documents do not have your picture on them. How many marriage certificates have a picture. She just kept moving the goal posts farther away. Beth is one of those people that looks for ways to not do things. We went to Bank of America, opened a personal account and cashed the savings bond the same day. I went to Navy Federal Credit Union and closed all three of my accounts. Another family member received the same type of savings bond. It was cashed at Alta One Credit Union with no issues. Please avoid this bank. They don't want your money.

I bank through Navy Federal for all my banking needs (home loan, checking/savings account, credit card). Their rates are unbeatable. The staff here are amazing! They were also extremely pivotal in the purchase of my first home. I'm happy to be a part of Navy Federal.

We stopped by a week ago to get an auto loan. Great experience. We did have to wait a bit to be able to come in, COVID protocols, but that's ok. All in all it only took like 30 mins to get an answer and that was great. We'd highly recommend this location. They're fast and courteous and know how to treat customers.

Great credit union, although I'm not a member, I can deposit and withdraw even though my credit union is LOGIX in L.A. They offer "Co-op" with other credit unions which is so convenient!
