Lawrence Memorial Credit Union, New London, CT

I became a member a while after my boyfriend and I started dating. Since then we had a few small mistakes that didn’t seem to be a big issue. Bc my boyfriend’s mother works at the hospital my account has to have his name on it. Some financial things happened to us due to COVID and our account needed attention. We called together bc the account is in both our names. Ashley must have had something personal against me and yelled at me to get off the phone. We asked to speak to a manager whom was on vacation at the time. Bc Ashley remained mad, out of spite and without our permission she cancelled our account for the entire holiday weekend causing us to not be able to access our money, our paycheck was declined and we were left with nothing for the weekend. We showed up to the bank this morning to speak to the manager and as soon as we got there Ashley went in and reactivated the account. Luckily I took pictures and recorded proof that our account was deactivated. The manager also saw that she did in fact do this and understood and admitted that it was in fact out of spite. We can not and do not trust this credit union anymore. We will be moving our accounts and loans and reporting this as far as we can take it. I would never wish anyone to lose their job and it wasn’t even a big issue until Ashley cancelled our account and still thinks that she can do things like this out of anger. That is not trust worthy and makes the entire credit union look bad. This should not be taken lightly. I do not recommend this bank for the reason that someone could use their authority to access you personal money and make it so you have nothing just bc she was angry. This is wrong in so many ways.

I love Tammy and Ashley! They are the sweetest people you'll meet! Overall, the staff is amazing and I just enjoy the vibe. They are so sweet over the phone and always help me if I have any questions!

Omygoodness, I cannot say enough positive things about this credit union. It is small, therefore like the TV show Cheers, everyone knows your name. If you are lucky enough to be eligible for this CU, by all means take advantage of it. Rates are almost always less than banks and other CUs for loans, and the staff is absolutely excellent!

I have had an account here for over 21 years and the staff at this little branch are phenomenal, Tammy, Ashley, Jenny, Terry are the best. They are extremely helpful and very caring, i wouldn't trade them for anything in the world. Thanks for being there when I need you!!!! Lots of Love!!!!

Been with L&M FCU for well over a decade and the service is amazing! Much better to go small local, and responsible than give money to those who would gladly wreck our economy.
