We have been business and personal banking customers at this branch through many changes in ownership for almost 20 years ...New Haven Savings, First Niagara, and now Key. I am reading the bad reviews and I feel I have to stick up for the crew. I find this group of KeyBank employees to be the most professional I have ever seen at this location. There has been low turnover since the new ownership. The lobby looks nicer. The online banking is extremely easy to use. The staff always goes out of their way to assist me. I find the service consistent at other Key branches. My only complaint is that I have to drive to Westbrook when I need a notary. There used to be one in this branch.

Terrible Bank, closed the Chester location then the next one shut down on Saturdays so had to drive to Old Saybrook to cash a check just to have it ruined by their machine because it had a damp spot which the teller should have put tape over. Now I’m out my time and have to go through the process of getting a replacement check. If it were an inconvenience to Key I would of had late fees, overdraft charges, etc. Go to Essex Savings instead!

I used KeyBank online banking app to deposit a check. I went to the Old Saybrook location to find out when my funds were going to clear the following business day. Keep in mind I am on social security disability, needed to pick up physch meds and only had $6 in my account. I also had very little gas in my car. I went in and explained the situation to the branch manager. She stated the funds would clear the next day. That was of no help since I needed my medication that day.
I returned a few minutes later with the physical check and informed the personal banker I needed access to my funds that day and had been diagnosed with the flu earlier in the morning. The branch manager upon hearing that released my funds and asked me to leave the bank. She had it within her power to release my funds the first time around.
Rest assured I did not have the flu. Stating I did was what prompted the bank manager to release my funds. Should someone on disability with $6 to their name have to resort to such drastic measures to gain access to their money? The answer is no.

KeyBank is a terrible company and their branches are no better. KeyBank customer service suggested I contact a branch to resolve a problem I have struggled for 6 months to resolve with customer service. I made an appointment, called during the scheduled time, was sent to voice mail and nobody has ever returned my message. Just a terrible company who could not care less about their customers.

Poor customer service. I live 45 minutes away. Drove out to take care of an urgent matter. And they refused to see me they wanted me to make an apt. I know they close in 10 minutes but as a banker taking care of your customers and business is suppose to be your number one priority. I left very upset.
