About 2 months ago, I received a cash installment where I pay back a little every 2 weeks when I get paid. I was still happily employed and had included in my budget paying them back every 2 weeks. Unfortunately like several other people, I lost my job due to the Covid-19 virus. I didn’t decide to close my jobs doors and decide to no longer get paid to be able to pay them back. My first payment came up and I called another Amscot location and they were very sweet and understanding and told me the steps I needed to take to figure my situation out.
Fast forward to today, I called this location this morning and spoke the what I now know is the manager, Melinda. She seemed very sweet, willing to help me out. Again I was told I needed to come in and they’d try to help me out. I went in and was helped by a another employee (who wasn’t the nicest person ever) and he did what he needed to do for my situation and than I was told that there want anything him or corporate could do to help me and I’d just have to wait until my bank returned the payment before they could do anything to help me. First of all, I didn’t ask to be unemployed and a mother trying to support my children. I than left and tried figuring money out and went back in to try to pay with a debit card and was once again told (with even more attitude then the first time) that there wasn’t anything he could do to help me until my bank charged me a returns item fee than he could help and take my payment via debit card. I than asked him about how I was supposed to pay the returned item fee from my bank and then if I was slowly getting my first unemployment check. He than said “I don’t know what you want me to tell you but I can’t help you” and walked away. I left and went and got cash out of my savings and went back to pay them. When I walked in with cash, he told me the total which happened to be 160.17. I handed him 161 and he said “so do you have the change? Oh no, you were able to get a dollar out too”?
I am disgusted with the attitude I received from this location and uncaring personalities of both these employees.

Why do the employees here all look like they hate their jobs? I used to go in here to collect money (Western Union) that my children's father would send from Ohio for child support. They ask you every question imaginable other than what color underwear you are wearing. Who is sending the money..what are you using it for..etc. He pays a fee to send the money via Wester Union so what I'm using it for is none of their business! Needless to say I pick it up from Publix now...much nicer & smiling employees without all the hassle and prying questions.

Double cashed my employees pay check and sent her to collections for their own ignorance. When approached with proof, actual physical proof of her cleared and cashed check they became rude and unwilling to listen. I call in and try to clear things up and recieve the same redness from the manager Melinda. Garbage, heartless rude management unwilling to admit fault.

Came in for a money order and was "greeted" by Dennis. I said hi how are you? He just blankly stared back at me. Great! Services worked well but if your in the customer service bussiness hire some better staff. How rude.

I know there have been some company wide changes but we've had a good experience dealing with Amscot until we came to this location and then pay back time table got reduced and now they refuse to let us pay it back on payday because their system has incorrect info. Sigh. SO helpful to shrug and say nothing you can do right away.
