Amscot - The Money Superstore, Sarasota, FL

Had a close family member pass away which was also the day I owed money. Called The store and the employee that I spoke to was very compassionate & understanding as well allowed me to pay the next day to focus on family. Always was told that these places are money hungry and don’t care about the customer which to my surprise, just isn’t true. Really satisfied with the customer service at this branch & thank you to you guys.

I see people saying the manager from Czech is rude. I have been using this store for quite a while. He is one of the most friendly employee there! Guess you can't please everyone. These people have rules to follow and customers get angry when things don't go their way.

I went in for notary services and Max was not helpful and wouldn't sign my signature page. I asked why and he said he can't notarize certain documents because it's a "rule", I asked him what the rule was and he said "it's just a rule". I asked if I could see a copy of those rules and he said they were printed on the wall behind them and "no", I asked if those rules were on the website and he said he didn't know. At this point I just left since I knew I wouldn't be getting anywhere. This wasn't a problem in the past at other Amscot locations where I will visit instead. No wonder this location has 2.5 stars! DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME! I called Amscot Corporate and spoke to a Supervisor and he said that each notary can deny services at their discretion. What a joke!

Max was extremely lacking in customer service. Poor management?

I was there today and Max helped me to cash a check. He was attentive and courteous. All around fantastic service. Hire more like Max

If I could not even give a star would be happy, the worst customer service ... I spent 50 minutes at her window trying to cash a check with my friend and just looking at her passport and seeing that she was not American. The boy's expression at the window was horrible, and he simply did not want to help us. He invented a pretext not to cash the check and they simply gave us a receipt as they do not trust the origin of the check really incredible because on other occasions she has cashed checks in other amscot stores... really disappointing... I will never return, much less use the company for my next transactions.

This is an awful place. Clerk at counter didn’t quite understand what “Notary” means in the form I provided which clearly listed that a Notary COULD witness the form. He didn’t even read the form fully but said “no I’m not a Witness”. Had to control myself with his imperious tone "don't talk over me". This happened months ago with an item the SSA said I should get notarized at which time the same Clerk said “that’s illegal”! Management needs more oversight of this group.
