Small Town Bank Not so Small town anymore!
I love Small town Sheldon Iowa I like to see the city grow and change. But some changes are bad Northwestern bank used to know me by name but today they treated me like a common thief for an over draft that put me $10 negative on an account I thought was already closed. They wouldn't work with me and said that they need the $10 to pay for the time I have
used. I just called twice because the person I needed to talk to was at lunch. Long story short if a bank needs money that badly I would not trust them with any of my money. My new big city bank has a policy that it forgives up to 3 overdrafts a year $90 . I was with Northwestern bank for 5 years or longer and they wouldn't even forgive $10 worth. Small town bank not so small town anymore makes me really sad.
Ps I would not have posted this but before I hung up this was said by one of the bankers "I am not closing your account until we get $9.99"
So if anyone has some time and are in Sheldon Can you bring $10 to northwestern bank and tell them its for Bill

I use to love this bank and how well they knew me by name and greeted me accordingly. Genuine smiles and the small greetings would make you feel very welcomed and taken care of.. But recently, within this past year, they have been decreasing their genuineness... Just this year alone - I have asked for, and made requests on dealing with my account limitations, getting a new debit card, re-opening my account
and re-registering for E-banking - and they have been slacking on responding to me, having me sign the old paper work - that should of been handled the first time.. Basically just simply not answering my requests in a timely manner - and that's jus some things to start with.. It's very upsetting and embarrassing when you have a decent amount of funds in your account to spend and you're trying to start a small online business and have talked to other company's on building a relationship and putting in orders to buy material to start your business - but when you try and send/transfer money at their request or at check out - you get the "This transfer was denied by your bank." notification. Now your standing there with a dumb look on your face, trying to explain to the other business owners that there's a mistake or something's wrong with an update and then you have to wait til the bank opens to talk to them about it or having to make umpteen withdraws at the limited amount every day until you take out enough to pay for your materials... I look very unprofessional and just sloppy and stupid to these companies I am working with..
I honestly hope and wish this bank gets to where it used to be, with the beautiful smiles, sincere attitudes, and professionalism that they had a couple years back.. Loyalty to me is a very huge thing, and I guess that's why I'm still with this bank.. But it keeps giving me reasons to leave and drop my connections to them...
Be Loyal to those who are Loyal to you...
Get your s*** together Northwestern Bank (in Sheldon, IA).. I still have some Hope left for you guys.. 🙏🙏🙏.
