Received an FHA loan through First Colony. The house does not even come close to qualifying. Half the house doesn’t have a foundation, direct wood to dirt contact. Most of the house has been destroyed by wood destroying insects and organisms. The roof, ceiling, attic space and walls are full of mold. They use FHA inspectors that will appraise the house for whatever the loan is regardless of condition. Contacted them for a resolution, got referred to their lawyer that claims he will call you back but doesn’t. I would be really careful doing business with this company. After more research found many more people suffering through shady loans from First Colony. Still fighting for a solution, Kara said early on they wouldn’t let this go and have her reputation ruined. Now they just avoid calls. Their lawyer called me and said Kara feels horrible about this. Not sure if her feelings are supposed to make me feel better about completely derailing me financially. They use FHA appraisers that will fraudulently pass houses. Have several fraud claims going with FHA and the Better Business Bureau.
