Financial Plus Credit Union, Ottawa, IL

Was looking at the savings and CD rates at other unions and banks in the area and was surprised that my own union has one of the lowest savings and cd rates around. Less than 1% seriously? Others in the area are offering 4%. I hope you just haven’t updated your website or that is appalling. Guess you gotta pay for that new building somehow.

This credit union has terrible customer service, but they were able to hook me up with low interest rates on my auto loan and credit card. I'm pretty much stuck dealing with poor customer service because I know that I'll never find a lower interest rate anywhere else. It's mostly the rudeness of the staff that I can't stand. Most of them are very short with me and they have gotten brash with me on occasion.

Account was hacked into and personal contact info was changed. Had to sign paperwork and go into local branch to get it changed back. Someone there entered my email in wrong and even tho I fixed it on my end, they still are sending emails to the incorrect listed address. Mobile deposit for payroll check was rejected, but clearly with wrong email, I was not notified. The ladies I spoke to regarding the hacking were very nice, apologetic and seemed genuinely concerned, but today was complete opposite.

I had the worst experience with a loan officer from Ottawa named Kaliah White. I did a loan application online, I provided pay stubs as requested, and with a credit score of over 800 she told me the loan was approved. So I drove to the closest office which was 50 miles away to complete the paperwork and pick up the check only to be told the loan was not going to go through as requested because the car was overpriced. They offered half the amount that she told me I was approved for. She lied to me and I drove there for nothing. I ended up going to my bank and got the full amount requested without an issue. Thank you for deceptive practices.
