First Merchants Bank, Lafayette, IN

This was the worst bank to ever exist I had a been with them for about four years. I am a very kind and patient person I went as far as to drive to three different banks to try to withdraw or deposit money and none of the machines ever worked and I would always work around them and be accommodating and kind. I had a large amount of money there and they always treated me very rudely to the point where I would cry I am 22 I do not know if it was because I was young but there was multiple things that have gone wrong in all of the branches they were unprofessional and rude at any circumstance they could I am glad to be with a new bank now I wouldn’t recommend this for anybody if you care about your mental health or about your money

I gave FMB five stars because everyone is entitled to oversight. I had business I needed to tend to inside but was not allowed to because I arrived before 10:00am on a Saturday and I am not yet 65 years of age. I was told I am welcome after 10:00am. This information is not available when looking up banking hours on their website, information that definitely should be available. I hope their website is updated soon. Time is precious. Had I known I could not enter before 10:00am I would have rearranged my schedule to accommodate FMB hours. Otherwise, most personal are friendly and the service is average to slightly above average. It was requested by my friend that I comment on the overdraft fees in which she paid for her elderly father...they were outrageous.

After two (major) transaction failures in just two months, I closed my accounts with First Merchants.
