Members Advantage Credit Union, Michigan City, IN

Truly the worst financial institution in Michigan City and that is saying a lot with Horizon. Pulled credit without asking when being put on my mom's account when I already have an account there. Then another horrible interaction after that so I decide I'm going to close my account. Who do I get? The chick who pulled my credit without asking. Here is the kicker. There are no grown ups there. There is no contact information for the board. There is no one to give feedback to. When I closed my account, one I've had nearly all my life, they did not ask why. So much more feedback - but where do you give it?

Every time you have to pull into the drive through for transactions you are sitting at least an hour. Save yourself the headache and bank with someone else who values your time. Today I left work and came straight to the bank. Pulled into the drive through at around 3:15 with only 3 cars ahead of me. Sat in the drive through until 4:17. No apologies & absolutely no sense of urgency. Also have tried to cash insurance checks from vehicle accidents over the years. Was always given an excuse from the Michigan City branch but was told by the LaPorte branch it should have never been a problem. You only get a rental car for so long after an accident. Once the check is cut from your insurance company you cannot hold the rental unless you plan to pay out of pocket. I was told last summer when my car was totaled that they needed to hold the check from on a Wednesday all the way until a Monday. A big inconvenience when I had to go to a currency exchange and pay $300.00 out of my insurance check just so I can car shop. & let’s not forget about the fact I paid for a vacation at Wisconsin Dells, only for the pandemic to come & had to cancel the vacation. The resort tried over 5 times to refund the funds but the system was not allowing them to. After so long my bank acted as if it was such a hard decision to release money to my account & just wait for the funds from Wisconsin Dells even after speaking to the resort clarifying that the money was indeed refundable & that it was the banks system that would not allow the funds to be returned. I had to make a trip into the bank multiple times to get my money back. I will be looking for someone else to bank with soon.

No wait, personal in house decisions made by a real human being. Honestly the best rates I've found along with the easiest process and nicest people around. Michelle was excellent I cant say enough nice things about this young lady and her new manager was humble, kind and genuinely seemed to care about us as people. We switched everything here and are telling everyone we know because we sure wish we had paid this little credit union more attention to start with. We feel blessed to have this credit union so close to our home and to be working with them now.

After a horrible experience at another credit union in town my husband and I pulled our business and came to Members Advantage. From the moment we walked in the door we have been treated with kindness and respect. I am so very happy with our decision and with all of the staff especially Anna Stover. She is amazing and will be members for life!

Do not work with this company. They will just keep intentionally delaying the process and charging you money each time. Terrible customer service. If I could give 0 stars I would.

Owed money and they sent all letters to my old address even tho I moved well over a year before and I didn't receive one letter. So they sent to collections and now my 100 bucks I owe is 500 dollars. Worst bank ever.
