My father-in-law's car loan payments were not always being credited to his auto loan. When I called to try to determine what happened to his payment (he's 90 and sometimes needs a little help) the very annoyed teller finally found the issue after several unhelpful phone calls. The payments were being deposited into a savings account. This is the $5 account he opened in order to remain a member, not an account he had ever used as savings.
The employee said they have new tellers who don't always know what to do with those payments, in spite of the loan coupon included with the payment? He ended up with almost $200 in late fees that were never refunded. He is on a fixed income so this is a pretty big deal for him. While I don't think this would be classified as predatory, it certainly isn't good practice. Please be careful when using this institution. I would not recommend it for an elderly person or anyone who isn't able to keep a very close eye on their accounts.

I got a car loan, then I heard that Lakes Federal Cr. Union would redo my car loan & lower my interest rate! They have been fantastic!
I am moving out of state & I am still keeping my account, 1st because of my car loan & 2nd because they have helped through every phase of all my needs.
Thank you!

Not open on Saturday is garbage. Never heard of a financial institution that doesn't stay open till at least noon. Not everyone has nor wants an ATM card.

Every time I call in it seems like they don’t have time to help me. The way they talk to customers is unprofessional.
