Hands down the worst mobile banking app you will ever use AND thee absolute worst customer service I've ever come across. No one is on the same page or gives you the same answers to fix a situation with the app. It has glitches that won't allow you to get to your money when your in a situation and need it. And Danielle at the New Castle Branch is either has driest, rudest voice on the planet or she is absolutely clueless how to have a pleasant , helpful conversation. Only thing they're trained to say is. "Sorry for the inconvenience " But Danielle makes sure she let's you know she could care less about any inconvenience. So today we will make sure we close our accounts and get our loans settled with them so we don't have to deal with this clown show of a bank ever again.

I've been banking here for quite some time. This review isnt based on one meeting or interaction. The bankers and customer service reps here do a great job and have always left me a satisfied customer. The are fair and ethical. I would highly recommend. No banking errors in a lot of years with a lot of transactions. :)

First Merchant Bank continues to be an incompetent bank. We try and do business with this bank only to get no calls back. It takes days/ weeks to get anything done. They are slow, you get bumped around to different people, they act like they are the customer and that you need them. They have this bizarre sense of what customer service is. With the purchase of Ameriana Bank things have only gotten worse. As we transition to Indiana we need certain resources. This bank will not be one at the rate they are going. Never have I ever experience such poor banking.

Okay as the other reviews say... this bank is absolutely horrible. You cannot call directly to YOUR BANK... have to call the 'MAIN INDY BRANCH' and answer 300 security questions to ask any questions regarding your account. They have ZERO ATM locations other than the ONE that is at the actual bank... on top of the ATM fee FMB also throws in a $2 'foreign atm fee' so that makes it $24.50 to withdraw $20... I signed up for Overdraft Protection as i've been on this since i was 16.. well I can still overdraft and owe them money. Not sure how that works. Customer service is a big fail and their fraud dept is also a big fail... I would not recommend this bank to anyone.

It's really hard to find a Bank this bad, most banks have at least one good quality, but I didn't find it. If you are self employed this bank takes away your legal deductions and says you did not earn the money. First Merchants Bank thinks their underwriter is the smartest person in the world, so Mr Underwriter read this;
Ok lets look at the Federal code:
26 U.S. Code § 7206. Fraud and false statements
Any person who—
(1) Declaration under penalties of perjury
Willfully makes and subscribes any return, statement, or other document, which contains or is verified by a written declaration that it is made under the penalties of perjury, and which he does not believe to be true and correct as to every material matter; or
Receives, withholds, destroys, mutilates, or falsifies any book, document, or record, or makes any false statement, relating to the estate or financial condition of the taxpayer or other person liable in respect of the tax;
shall be guilty of a felony and, upon conviction thereof, shall be fined not more than $100,000 ($500,000 in the case of a corporation), or imprisoned not more than 3 years, or both, together with the costs of prosecution

Thank you for your response, I believe the best thing your bank can do in the future is to tell the customer in FULL Disclosure that a Home loan application includes a hit on their credit report, and your bank subtracts tax deductions as no income for self employed people.
That would resolve a lot of disappointment for a lot of people, just be up front and honest in advance.
Yes I called your Vice President four times, I guess that chatter was nothing but bull because no one said they knew what this was about.

It's a really quick and easy bank to access off of the highway and it charges $3.50 charge if it's not your bank.

Never had a problem and been banking here for years! The app isn't the best but usually have issues and no other banking app I use is any better!
