They wouldn’t help me out with money when I had to get new card because of fraud so now my bank is pending and haven’t removed. So now I have 0 balance and I’m stuck with no gas. They are worst bank ever. I’m going get new bank. Very disappointed!! I should have stay my old bank.

My debit card charges me a dollar every time I use it. Direct deposit doesn't show up till they open but on the plus side I do get paid a day early. Beware of buyer protection. I tried to file for a chargeback because I thought I was buying concert tickets with Ticketmaster and it was a another company that uses the logo which is considered a scam site by the better Business bureau and they sided with the scam site. I literally got a faded printout of an email that the scam site sent them. Supposed to receive the concert tickets I have emails from the site stating on February 5th it is now April 21st and I still have not received the tickets. All the scam sites sent was a email that said that the concert wasn't till July and that's all they had sided with them on. 88% of people win chargebacks. I will be changing Banks soon.

We joined this credit union because we planned to go through them for a mortgage and auto refinance. Based on how they’ve treated us just dealing with our checking account, we will be going somewhere else for our banking needs. Every interaction I’ve had with them has been negative. They treat you like they are doing you a favor just by depositing a check into your account. Very impersonal and condescending employees. Also you cannot call your local branch. There is only a call center and you’ll be on hold a minimum of 20 minutes.

Hard to find an easier banking partner than the team at Abound Federal Credit Union in Danville, KY. I work for an area competitor and found it much for simple and streamlined to do business with these folks. I wouldnt recommend them to ANYONE. Have had an interest only home loan for 3 years. Was fine for us at the time, but when our payment TRIPLED, I asked to convert it to a regular loan. They gave me the run around for WEEKS. Finally, they denied it; we have never missed a payment and our income has gone wayyyy up since first loan. I swear I think they simply wanted to keep us locked into the IO Loan, as that is literally the only explanation; I am doing everything I can to refinance with a different bank because Abound is AWFUL. Second, I recently tried to balance transfer to them. I was told it was a special of 3% plus no transfer fee. Not kidding, I transferred it; got charged PLUS my interest was 5x what they said. I have sat on the phone with multiple people, multiple times; one told me the 3% was correct, another told me it was 11.99%; another told me it was 23.99%; plus they charged me some bogus $30/ mo. identity theft charge; I asked to cancel that 3 times and was told it was, but yet again, came out this month. NOBODY knows anything here. SOOOO unorganized. The second I can sever ties with them completely, I am gone and never looking back; they really messed up and lost a life long customer by doing people so dirty.

I don’t know about borrowing but for Savings and Checking you can do much better elsewhere. If you’re a lazy saver this is not the place for you. Standard rates on savings are minuscule. Currently 1/20 of 1 percent while several online banks are paying around 5 percent. The only good savings options are oddball term CD’s (a 10mo is currently the best). They pay competitive rates but are compounded quarterly so if you close early you will take a penalty and lose all accrued interest. These CD’s also renew automatically at standard terms which pay much lower rates. You then need to contact them to keep from being locked into a new, low-interest CD. Again, if you want to set it and forget it, this is not a sound choice. Then there is checking. I recently made several purchases using Paypal and checked out using my credit card. Paypal chose to take the money from my linked, underfunded Abound checking account instead. With no indication this was happening, I had 3 overdrafts on 2 consecutive days. I was able to catch it on the 2nd day and added money immediately to cover all the overdrafts. Abound never informed me this was happening but instead tagged me for 3 overdraft fees of $31 each. I explained what happened and requested a waiver. The benevolent Abound granted me a single waiver but left the other 2 as is and told me they were “unable” to refund these. More like unwilling. Of course they benefit from overdrafts and want you to do it early and often. I’ve been banking there for 19 years and still got hit with these predatory fees. If you think you will get a personal touch with this local bank, think again. Make a mistake and the vultures swoop in. They are little different from the big banks. You may as well get a good online bank and get some real interest on your savings and checking. Head over to a website that compares deposit accounts and find something that benefits you. I’m going there now.

As a Realtor who is constantly referring clients to local mortgage lenders, it would be helpful if we could call our local bank directly as opposed to having to go through the 800# in Fort Knox. I've sat on hold now twice for 15 minutes just trying to get in touch with a local mortgage lender. If you're going to serve a small town, you need to offer small-town, local customer service.
