First Merchants Bank, Monroe, MI

I give 5 stars to the ladies working there, they are always smiling and very friendly tho I'm sure many times they're having a rough day but they never show it. My complaint is since the bank got bought (used to be Monroe Bank & Trust) they lost that small town feel. Pictures used to be of things like a couple overlooking their farm, the kind of things more reflective of this area, now it's all just run of the mill "corporate" kind of stuff. Other issue is calling them for help, the number used to take you straight to 1 of the banks in the area so you knew it was someone right down the street. Now it's a call center likely in another country as I can rarely understand the people. Sad to see another small town business get rubbed out.

Lost one of my checks for 3 MONTHS and couldn't get a single person that could figure out what happened to it. "We need to contact this person by mail, we need to contact this person", just got an "unclaimed property" letter from my previous employer. Whaddya know, it's the check that got lost. Awful bank. Can't recommend it less.

First Merchants Bank was very clean the bank tellers where very friendly, The ladies that work in the loan department were also very niçe, since the switched there former name was Monroe Bank and Trust. There policy has changed some of it anyways, If you pbut money in the bank vou can't get any cash out til the next day it use to be same day case, And usually direct deposit get put in early and this bank do that, but I be still bank there been a customer for 20yrs It is a very good bank

I was looking into getting a Boat Loan for a new boat i was going to purchase at Cabala's. I didn't know what my best options are and she answered every question i had. Great customer service and will for sure come here and talk to her for any other loan questions. Thanks so much.
