Northpointe Bank, Portage, MI

I would recommend Northpointe to any one looking for a mortgage loan. We worked with Mark Candey who is top notch. Mark stayed in contact with me throughout the entire process and returned my calls quickly. He is not only very informative but very knowledgeable as he has been in the business for a very long time. We could not have been any happier with Mark and Northpointe Mortgage in Portage.

I can strongly advise not to use this bank! I started a loan in April 2016. provide all necessary information needed for my loan on the day it was requested. Northpointe neglected to follow-up on my loan with due diligence to proceed it along in a timely matter followed by excuses. They let my Feb appraisal lapse so a new one needed to be ordered in July with a 13% less value. I have a well established job, good credit, & no issues--easy. Northpointe promised closing in June, July, & then October. I sat down each time to close only to hear new loose ends and a new scuttling thus forcing me to pay another payment on my current Home Equity. Per Northpointe's advise, I was holding off on the current HO til the due date because, "We were closing". One of the HO payments was late by one day due to 31 calendar days in the prior month thus making the second payment late too. Before I knew it, my beautiful credit score was ruined. I can't get a loan from any bank wo extreme closing costs & high rates. I can no longer get my Parent Plus loan from the Federal Government to pay for my son's WMU college. This was a very stressful experience from April til October which I never wish to go through again or wish others to experience.

Several of our home buyers have used Matt Kavanaugh at Northpointe Bank and we have been pleased with the level of service, communication and expertise. The buyers were happy with the rates and the closings proceeded smoothly.

The staff and customers DO NOT WEAR MASKS! Wreck less with peoples live and moving forward safely would never step foot in this establishment.
