Gate City Bank, Williston, ND

This ""bank"" likes to hold your funds despite other institutions already receiving and releasing direct deposits. Going back to a credit union because of the terrible customer service.

At this point even calling my bank is frustrating. Travel noticed aren't processed. Questions aren't answered. Zelle doesn't work. You will call and be transferring between 3 people somehow and then your account still won't work. It's not worth the hassle. Update:: appreciate the "response" but the fact is its still not working. My zelle doesn't work for anyone to send or receive money from me. I have been on the phone MULTIPLE times and yet? They said it probably won't work since they're both gate city bank accounts.

I would trust my money with a stranger before I would trust this bank again. We have been with them for a little under three years, in that time we have had to completely close and reopen our account twice due to fraud and our online banking compromised. We have had to get new debit cards at least 10 times due to fraud. Every time we have an issue and we call to dispute it we get pushback and treated as though the charges are legitimate. So many transactions post and then several days later show up in pending again. I have paid so many fees to this bank just to avoid the headache of having to deal with them. I opened a new bank account and will be closing this one ASAP. I went as far as blocking my gate city debit cards and haven’t used it for over a week and today we have fraud again. Seriously buy a paper bag to hold your money, it’ll probably work better.

I have been banking with them since 2017. I’ve used Wells Fargo, Chase, B Of A, and all the other large banks. Gate City is by far the most sincere helpful company I’ve trusted my money with. I’m living back in California now and always brag to everyone out here about them. They always go above and beyond to have my back.

I love this bank. It is a runner up with my credit union. I have never had a problem with this bank. They explain every thing to you in a way you can understand. good rates on loans, Friendly staff even though high turn over. If I ever have a problem they are right their to help me or walk me through the problem. I would recommend this bank to anyone. I have kept them even though I am no longer in the sate.

It was amazing, easy and fast. Opening an account with them got me a blanket and 3 amazing, freshly baked cookies. Oh, and the awesome benefits, including no service charge at ATMs and no minimum balance fee 😁 …

Would NOT recommend banking or at least for sure getting a mortgage through Gate City. Every client that my company has taken on that banks with Gate City has had an issue getting their insurance checks released, payed out and sometimes the branches have not been able to find their checks. My company has had approximately 9 issues to date with them requiring something different each time to release money. We have provided proof beyond reasonable doubt that work has been completed and each time they request a new document from the previous instance. It’s a disaster to deal with after having to deal with the insurance companys to begin with. For potential homebuyers looking for a mortgage, try First International Bank & Trust. I really enjoyed this bank until this morning I even kept my account out of state with them. I now i'm going to find a new bank I called this morning. The bank teller would not give me her name and hung up the phone on me and would not help me very unprofessional. When I tell you I really enjoyed this bank I mean it I still don't know who was so rude and disrespectful to me. I wish I could leave her name but she hung up on me. That hurts when people don't want to help you when it would be so easy for them to do so but because they are in a bad mood everyone. Has to pay.
