M&T Bank, Lakewood, NY

The staff is inconsistent in how they handle requests, one week they will cash a check drawn on the same bank account and the next week they refuse to. They will also lie to your face and tell you they have no way of verifying a check from another bank, when they can call the other bank to verify the check or use a check verification system, just like retail does. M&T's insane fees are predatory to anyone that doesn't have a ton of money. It is so hurtful to see banking get more and more predatory since Banks including m&t, tanked our economy in 2008 and then took bailout money from our government, our tax dollars and continue to operate in such predatory manners. I will be looking into local credit unions for my business account.

This banking establishment believes that defrauding customers is a legitimate business practice. They attempt to extort people who would cash checks drawn from M&T even though their creditors (people with accounts) are FDIC protected to $250,000. Then if you call them on their attempted fraud, their managers will attempt to threaten you, this is called coercion and is also a criminal act. All in all I would deter anyone I could from doing ANY business with these fraud and extortion experts. Remember, it was policy for Jews to wear a gold star during WWII in Europe and the Nazi's were just doing their jobs too.

I am fairly new at coming to this branch as I am from Bemus Point and our branch closed this last summer. All of the staff here are wonderful! They make me feel so welcome and have taken exceptional care of me! Some of them are from our Bemus branch and the others were already in Lakewood and together they have made for a great banking experience!
