Ulster Savings Bank, Red Hook, NY

Really good bank! Helpful nice employees, bank’s policies are really good overall. Just one example, they make sure one of their employees is a notary. M&T not only doesn’t have a notary at the closest two locations to me, they were rude about my surprise (definitely traditionally banks always have notaries) and said they thought I could drive down to the local Town Hall and for a fee get a document notarized. (I needed the document in order to get funds I was about to deposit in their bank!). My experiences at Ulster on the other hand are stellar! Great bank!

I am regularly greeted by name by one of the many smiling faces at the Red Hook branch from Melissa and her wealth of expertise to Chris and Alejandra with their positive and helpful attitudes. I recently needed extra service and they were so helpful!

Highest quality service. Efficient. Thorough. Friendly and conversant. I had to report a lost banking card and do some banking transactions. Within ten minutes I left with a new card and had completed all other requirements. Bravo to all staff at this location. Red Hook, NY.

I do not recommend anyone bank at Ulster Savings and if anyone has any deposits at this bank, I urge that they move the funds to another bank. Here's why: A good friend of mine is in the last stages of ALS. She is unable to move and is under the care of her aides 24/7. A GoFundMe check arrived for her. This money was essential for her to pay her aides which is why it was donated. I took this check to the bank for deposit because she is unable to leave her bed, but they refused to deposit it. They said I was not the account holder. I showed them my friend's passport and driver's license. Still they would not let me deposit the check. Even worse, this bank knew my friend because she was a long term depositor and knew that she needed this money to preserve her life. Still they refused to let me deposit the check in her account. This is a bank without a heart and should not be supported by our community.
