First New York Federal Credit Union, Rotterdam, NY

Opened up a 3rd account for me and my wife. The manager said typically we run a credit check when opening new accounts. We both have had accounts for years. We hesitantly said okay as if we figured it was procedure. Within seconds of that we asked why. And she said oh to see if we can save you on your loans. So it wasn’t procedure she just wanted to pull Our credit to try and gain herself business. Well a minute later after we said we didn’t really want them pulled she already did it and of course as we already knew she couldn’t do anything for us. So we now have a hard inquiry for Nothing. We also deposited checks from our wedding on that same day. They put the checks on hold for over 14 days!!! We are not very happy with this visit to the bank and are strongly considering other banking options due to this experience. Please beware and be more thorough as we were when dealing with this branch.

no 24 hour call service to help with card holds on weekends. I have no money or access to my account till Wednesday. idk how i will afford life.
