Horrible experience working with Matt Martino at Umpqua Bank Home Lending. Just horrible. Matt was inattentive, aggressive, and clearly way too stressed out to perform his job well. His assistant wasn't any help at all either. In the end, I got saddled with a HUGE interest rate because of his gross negligence in performing the basic duties of his job...which is blamed on the underwriter. After closing, it took me ONE WEEK to fix the issue which would have resulted in a HUGE savings for me....I waited on answers from Matt for 6+ weeks. In the end, I was forced to either take the horrid interest rate or lose a large sum of non refundable earnest money. I would recommend RUNNING far far FAR away from this organization. There are lots of choices for your mortgage lending needs, choose better than Umpqua Bank Home Lending. Literally the worst experience I've had in some 20 years.

Jackie Westover at Umpqua is amazing for a building loan. She is EXTREMELY efficient and very helpful, positive and responsive. We could not have asked for a better loan specialist.
