AmeriServ Financial Bank, State College, PA

Having used other financial institutions to purchase mortgages, I am quite experienced in the process with a variety of different banks. I can personally say that the mortgage department in this branch is very disorganized and can be downright rude. Every single document request seemed to be rushed and unexpected. Documents were lost and the wrong papers were sent to closing. Overall it was a poor experience and to top it off, our closing settlement was made out to the wrong name and a new check had to be cut and our mortgage was sold to a different lender. I wish that PSEA would do business with a different lender. PNC is a much better bank to do business with.
