So we have used Colonial for 2 years now for 2 separate vehicles, one from a dealer and one from an individual. I feel the reviews are unfair, seeing as most of the problems should be on the dealer. The ladies at Colonial have always been friendly with us and very upfront and honest about everything. We will be using them for all of our future loans when needed.

Less than one star. Everything that Phil Autelitano said in his review is CORRECT and true. They also treated me this same way. We bought a car from Price Right Auto and financed through Colonial Loan which is who they said they always use. We were told that the engine was replaced in the car right before we bought it and they also "inspected" our car as well. Not even 4 months later we have a rod knock. AND not to mention they do not listen to a word you say when you explain when you will be making a payment with them, they DO call you and THREATEN you over and over again. NOW I have the money on the day I told her I would have it and she is absolutely refusing to take my payment which I'm almost positive is illegal. Not to mention she's trying to make me pay for a month's payment that isn't even due for almost four more weeks. I will NEVER recommend anybody go there or to Price Right Auto on Chapman Highway. They are unprofessional and she even hung up on me today after yelling at me and refusing my payment. DO NOT GO THERE IF YOU WANT A GOOD CAR AND WANT GREAT SERVICE. THEY WILL SCREW YOU.

Do not do business with this company. In my opinion they are less than professional, providing less than professional service. These people are extremely rude to deal with. They seem to operate in cahoots with shady used car dealers. We purchased a Nissan Xtera from a local dealer who recommended Colonial as a financing source. These Xterra's are known for a cross-contamination issue requiring an upgrade to the transmission. The dealer assured us that upgrade had been made, and the woman at this branch of Colonial supposedly did her due diligence and inspected the vehicle as well. They financed it and within 2 months, it needed a new $4000 transmission -- the upgrade was never done. Complain about the car dealer and they will always take the car dealers' side -- why bite the hand that feeds them. When you call to make a payment, they're rude and condescending. When you're late, you get nasty phone calls and threatening letters with no basis other than to threaten you, or worse yet, she calls you at work or comes to your door. All that and I've caught her in at least one lie. Bottom line, very unprofessional. I've been in business many years and have been on both sides of debt. I can promise you that being rude and unprofessional will get you nowhere fast.

To the people that have stated they inspect the vehicle, the loan office does not do an inspection like in depth to tell you if the engine is knocking or what not. The engine they used at the auto place you bought the car at could've replaced it with the cheapest, high mileage engine they could find so they could get more $ out of the consumer. It's not the loan companies fault.

Our company uses CLA in some of our equipment financing and the transactions are always easy and done in a timely fashion. We have had several loans through them and have had 0 issues. Great company and great people. I would highly recommend them to anyone who pays there bills as they are contracted to do.
