First Sentinel Bank, Richlands, VA

I just paid off a vehicle loan with this company. While their technology is a bit behind the larger banks, their staff is really good. Over the years I had the loan with them, there were a couple of times some problems arose, but the staff consistently always tried to take care of me and when management had to be involved, they always made sure commitments were kept and never inconvenienced me. Good customer service and in the end they always take care of the customer.

I have never dealt with a bank that does business like this bank. My mother had an account at this bank, one that she asked me to close many times before her passing after two bank employees came to her home. After she passed, I went to the bank to withdrawal a direct deposit she got and the bank manager flat out refused to let me take this money! She told me I wasn’t “allowed” to spend my mother’s money, the issuer of the deposit does send a paper check back to me, and my name was on her account. This not only happened once, but twice! Unless you want to bank where the manager thinks she has first say with what you do with your money, I would suggest you find another bank.

Would NOT recommend this bank. Yes they are a hometown bank but provide horrible customer service. Been trying to get a statement from them for over 1 year and they will not provide a statement on a loan that I have with them. Got yelled at by one of the bank employees (a manager to be exact) which is highly unprofessional. Get your money away from this bank!

Need to give loyal customers much higher interest rates on Savings. This is especially true if FSB is investing my money for no return to me. ???

It's the worst bank to deal with. Don't care about there customers. Not willing to work with you on anything. Mr McDonald needs to be replaced with somone that understands people and dont just do it for a quick dollar like he does. I would not recommend this bank to anyone. They lack compassion and understanding for the common everyday person. If your looking for a bank i WOULDN'T SUGGEST THIS ONE! You would be better off putting your money in a mattress.
