Ricardo Cruz Duran, my Mortgage Supervisor, has been excellent since I moved to Charlottesville six years ago after moving in with my daughter. He has helped me every step of the way with my finances, my credit, to put me in a position for my dream home. I highly recommend him for anyone, young or old.

Ricardo was are Loan Officer, he was very helpful through the whole process my wife and I went through as first time homebuyers. Everything explained in detail, kept in contact with us during the whole process and worked together with our Realtor Alfonso and I, which made everything a lot easier. I highly recommend him.

I went to their office and worked directly with Matt Sweetanos several years ago in an attempt to obtain a mortgage for what would have been my first home--a $44k fixer-upper. Long story short, I went through the entire process and was approved every step of the way until I was given a flimsy reason at the very last stage of closing as to why I could NOT be given the loan. I was then emailed a list from Matt of additional documentation I would need to provide him--which I did immediately. At that point Matt could no longer make valid excuses for the denial, so he simply stopped returning my messages--and because he strung me along until the deadline, I did not get the house. It's possible that he was just really bad at his job and did not want to tell me directly that he made a mistake in the process. But being that I was gainfully employed (over 3 years at the time) with an excellent credit score, I can only surmise that Member Options, LLC's REAL issue with me was that I was an unproblematic black woman under 30. I have never forgotten how I was treated by this company and although it may be too late to file a discrimination lawsuit, it would not sit right on my spirit--especially considering what's going on in the world today--to not speak up about my experience and to let someone like myself do business with them unaware. (Months later I went through a more reputable mortgage company and found a home 10x better than the one I was not able to get. So perhaps I owe Member Options, LLC a thank you note.)

This was our first time buying a home. As you might know, it is a really confusing process. Ricardo Cruz Duran was extremely patient with us, guiding us step by step through the whole thing. He worked fast and efficiently. Moreover, he could handle our anxiety, as we called him several times during the week and even on weekends. He was always the nicest and most encouraging one!
