We had high hopes after doing a Home Equity Line of Credit and it all looked good. We were upfront and honest with what our intentions for the money were. We were asked multiple times if we would be living in our current home for 12 months. We told each person who questioned us "No". We were told that it wasn't an issue.
We drove to the local branch to join the CU, and during the process, the loan paperwork was reviewed and the 12 month question asked again....
Got called today and were told they would not approve the loan as we were going to move before the 12 month time frame. How can you be asked that question, by multiple representatives, and be told that is not a problem, when that is a disqualifier? Then you run a hard credit check on me, and put me at a huge disadvantage when I have to go to another lender.
The bank representatives, on the phone and at the branch, were very good to work with, but they need to be informed when they get a negative answer to a qualifying question, then stop the application.
My relationship with WSECU lasted 24 hours.

I’m new to WSECU as of yesterday. I have learned a lot by opening my new accounts. They have helped me save money and better my finances for setting me up for larger opportunities in life. Never had so much explained to me from a bank. I love my old bank still but WSECU has more options, but look forward to being with WSECU for many years. Hope rest of my life.

0 stars actually. Stay away from WSECU! Dealing with this credit union for a loan was the absolute worst experience I've ever had with any financial institution. They put me through the ringer for over a month until I became so frustrated I walked away from the purchase. Beware. They will only send you generic emails, when you upload requested documents nobody will look at them, nobody will reach out to you, you will constantly have to call in and wait on hold forever, you will then speak with someone different every time, and countless hours of your time will be wasted - it is the most inefficient way to operate. Getting a job with Doordash and then saving your pennies will result in a quicker turn around time than getting a loan with them.

Finally made it to the new location today and while the new branch looks amazing, the drive thru teller was a complete disappointment. No “hello” from him, not anywhere near the personality I’ve experienced at all different branches in the last 17 years I’ve been a WSECU member, and didn’t ask my code word when I made my deposit. I’ll be sticking with the Tumwater branch and mobile banking after today.

We have been banking with WSECU for many years now. We have had excellent experiences, and now run all of our mortgage and auto loans with them as well.
Every time you call, you get a real person to talk with quickly. They make personal decisions based on knowing you, and listen when you ask for exceptions. Lastly, they have gone out of their way numerous times to expedite processes of a time sensitive nature.
Very impressed that a bank/credit union offers such a personal touch in today's world. Wholly recommend.

Called about a credit application I submitted. Representative was very rude, tone of voice was disrespectful, and she didn't help with what I was needing at all. Worst banking experience ever. I don't recommend this credit union.

This credit union is the best I have ever seen. When I file a fraudulent claim they resolve it over night and not the 7 to 10 days they say that it can take. I have never had such a fantastic experience with any other bank. I am very proud to be a part of this credit union. They are always there to support you. Thank you!
