ANB Bank, Gillette, WY

Savings account interest rates are the lowest in the area. Parking is tight and caused an older gentleman to give me a dirty look like I was parked too close to his precious truck even though HE was over the yellow line in my spot with me (and the only available spot remaining). The staff appeared to be having a pre-Christmas party on Dec 18th when I went in to open an account and acted like they could care less about me since I was interrupting their festivities. There was a lady in an office who didn't even get up to greet me as I walked in (her cake was more important) and when I said I wanted to open an account she said to check-in at the desk. There was a 10' long sandwich in the way and another nicer lady decided to help me instead. A printed sign on her area said that they don't count change for non-customers which is another bad omen. If you aren't a customer... then screw off (in simpler words). I was not a customer and I was treated as such despite wanting to open an account there. They printed off a page for me and sent me on my way and hurried me out the door (at 1pm). Call it bad timing? Call it what you will... but I did not feel welcome there at all. I went to First National Bank of Gillette and opened an account there with a 7x higher savings interest rate and no fees. FNB is larger, nicer, more convenient, and all around better. The staff at FNB are more courteous and the bank is FDIC insured and overall makes you feel like your money is safer. I would not recommend ANB Bank to anyone. You can do better if you go anywhere else honestly.

The staff at American National Bank in Gillette, WY are amazing, they actually remember you when you come in to do your banking and they offer every convenience to the customer happily.

I love that you offer to move the change from your checking into a saving acct every night. Your new building is beautiful and great staff as well.

My wife and I came into the Gillette branch at 4:44 to open an HSA account as that was the soonest I could get there after work and was told they stop opening accounts at 4:45. I said oh is it that time? They said well 1 minute till and refused me service. I explained my situation and they could care less. I asked if I could do it online or if they were open Saturdays and they said they are not open Saturdays and don’t open accounts online. They gave us no other options or offer alternatives. They didn’t even follow their own policy of no account openings AFTER 4:45 as we came in at 4:44 and she confirmed the time was within their own policy. I will have to find a way to open the account as it is the only option for my job but I do not recommend this bank to anyone due to poor customer service and the fact that they don’t even follow their own policies. Zero stars if I could very unprofessional, zero empathy, untrustworthy and a bad representation of ANB Bank as a whole.
