Free loan-matching service. Zebra Finance is not a lender. We connect you with lenders. How we make money

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about how our free loan-matching service works, what you need to apply, how fast funding is, and how payday, personal and title loans differ.

General

Is Zebra Finance a lender?

No. We are a free, privately owned matching service that connects you with lenders and lending partners. The lender sets the amount, rate and terms.

Is this a government agency?

No. We are a private company, not affiliated with the CFPB, any credit bureau or any government agency.

How much can I request?

From about $100 to $5,000. State law and the lender decide what you can actually borrow.

What are the requirements?

Usually: 18+, US resident, steady income, an active checking account in your name, and a working phone and email.

Can I get a loan with bad credit?

Many lenders in our network consider fair and bad credit. Approval is not guaranteed and rates are higher for lower scores.

How quickly will I get the money?

Often as soon as the next business day after you accept an offer and e-sign.

Am I obligated to accept an offer?

No. Review the lender's disclosures and decline any offer that doesn't work for you.

What if I can't repay on time?

Contact your lender before the due date. Many states require payday lenders to offer an extended payment plan; see your state page for rules on late fees and collections.

Payday loans

Is a payday loan the same as a cash advance?

The terms are often used interchangeably. A payday loan is sometimes called a cash advance because it advances money against your next paycheck. A credit card cash advance is different: you withdraw cash against your card's credit limit, which requires available credit on a card. If you don't have card credit to tap, a payday loan through our network is a fast option. Check your options in about 3 minutes.

Personal loans

Can I get a personal loan with a 500 credit score?

It may be possible. A score around 500 limits options with traditional banks, but some online lenders consider low scores when you have steady income and an active bank account. Offers may be for smaller amounts, and approval isn't guaranteed. The quickest way to find out is to submit one request through our network and see whether lenders respond with an offer. It takes about 3 minutes.
